Friends from Your Bookshelf

This wall hanging is my entry in the
Blogger's Quilt Festival (please visit to see many other quilters' entries to the show)

Our local branch library was on the list of libraries that would close in the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh system. Our Friends Group (Lawrenceville Library)
planned fund raisers to call attention to the financial crisis and to raise awareness of the services that the library provides.Over 300 people attended our very successful art auction in September at the library.
I designed and created this string quilt to donate to the auction. It sol
d for a $140 bid, and the new owner had donated it to the library's children's room. It is about 50x50 in. and has over
120 images of characters or titles
fr
om children's books.

That is so neat! It would make a great 'I Spy' quilt for the children! I know mine would have a blast with it.

Cheryl,

Your blog settings are as a no reply blogger. Makes it difficult to contact you when you leave a comment on a blog (or enter a giveaway and win). I was wanting to respond to your comment about snowball quilts, but couldn't reach you. Email me and provide your email address and I'll try to help.
